Since you asked for improvement-tipps:
In my opinion, the bright dots on his nasal tip and under his left eye are still too accentuated - they make his skin there look too oily in comparision to the rest of his face. (Please note: that's absolut minor, I adore your portrait!)
The other light dots I find much, much better done, especially on the bridge of his nose, the ones around his right cheekbone and the ones ON his left eye (which I find is extremely well done as a whole).
That said, I'm going to get a bit enthusiastic about his hand: I LOVE how you painted it! Absolutely stunning! The veins, the fine shading - excellent! And I love the care for detail you put in drawing his body hair and his beard.
Oh, and his mouth is also well done - it isn't easy getting the lines of a slack mouth right , I presume. =]
As regards the bright dots on his nasal tip, I'll try dimm them a bit more.
Under his left eye, they were not dimmed since the wip, thank you for pointing this out.
Bridge of nose, right cheekbone, on left eye, all OK, good to know
If you're getting enthusiastic about his hand, I'm getting too. It was surprisingly easy for me to paint. The warm light (maybe coming from a fireplace)on the edge of his hand gave me some trouble. I used a broad oil brush for the beard among others, it was fun
The mouth did consume a fair amount of time. Wasn't a piece of cake, you presume right.
